The kids loved that this was a podcast just for them! They’re making plans

Here we are—one month later— my son says out of the blue, “I feel like making a hidey hole like from Julie Bogart’s podcast.” I never pushed. You never know when inspiration will strike. And just because they don’t jump on it, doesn’t mean the idea didn’t land. Thank you for these kid podcasts. It has been a joyful Sunday in our house—kids building and reading and creating and experiencing.

What a treasure and how lovely to have you come back to share with me!

I love that you're speaking directly to kids about how they can impact their homeschool experience! My kiddo was ready for another episode and joyfully made his cozy space inside the closet. Literature work, creative writing, and independent reading happened among the twinkle lights and pillows. 😊

I need a picture of that! Wow. So darling :)

What a delightful way to start a Monday morning! Kiddo did language arts on his iPad and his reading in his new hidey hole. The sleeping dog in her dog bed took up over half of it 😆

Hurray! That's what I love to hear!

My youngest son got right to work making his hidey hole. He even put a cup holder in it 😆

A cup holder!! HAHA. I love that. What schoolwork did he take with him?

Trish Howland's avatar

I read aloud while he chilled in there and he is currently doing some handwriting in it.

How charming and wonderful!

Pets love hidey holes too. Just found our 13 year old sweet dog in there lol.

We LOVE hidey holes! Under the coffee table, desk, or bed, behind our rocker, or even blankets draped over our gymnastic bar, or hammock.

We JUST swapped out cardboard boxes this weekend. The neighbors know we love a good box!

A good box is ideal!

This was so much fun. My son started gathering materials right away!

How do we find the transcript?

Julie Bogart's avatar

I am looking to see where it is on a cell phone. On desktop, it's next to the share button.

Thanks! I’m on my cell phone. I don’t see any button like that! This is my first podcast on Substack, so I’m not sure.

Julie Bogart's avatar

Okay I did some research. You have to open the podcast on your browser to see the transcript tab. It doesn't show on the cell phone app, weirdly.

I will do some research to find out where they are on the cell phone!

Next to the share button right at the top!

My 12 year old said "Mom! I'm too old for this!" and then immediately ran and constructed the most elaborate of blanket nooks
