I have so many gaps in my (schooled) education and I'm getting so excited making all these learning connections now as an adult together with my children. I home educate as much for me as for them! So far it is a lot of fun.
Learning how to learn for the sake of learning and how to avoid the trap of productivity 24/7 is a huge challenge! This was something I didn’t fully grasp when we started homeschooling, but I’ve come to love it.
Julie, I finally set up an art table, and that extra work really created the magic our home needed. During our family read aloud both of my kids were hard at work on projects. I actually ended up having to stop 3 chapters in because I was loosing my voice, haha. I was actually starting to wonder if they were listening because of how quiet they were (we're a rowdy bunch). Turns out both of them, unprompted, made art inspired by the story.
