I didn’t come up with this, but my 12-year old daughter knows that water is a good boredom buster. Haha. She is always making little potions with water and glitter and food coloring in little hotel shampoo bottles she’s saved from trips. She’ll also fill a small spray bottle with water and food coloring and take it outside to spray pictures and color on the snow. In the summer she freezes all kinds of drinkable liquids in ice cube trays and then makes shaved ice with them. (She even turned that into a recipe book for all things ice for a nonfiction writing assignment we had recently! 🏆) This article helped me reframe the messes as creative processes and remember that she’s really good at figuring out something to do when she’s bored. 🥇 Thanks!
