There's been a lot of talk about nervous systems lately and this post is what mine needed. Reading this, it makes me think of how the black-and-white "for us or against us" rhetoric risks threatening very valuable relationships and community and distracts from who and what truly deserves our anger and anxiety. I can see how I've been asked to declare my allegiance to others' position, AND how I have asked others to declare allegiance to mine! I appreciate the tools of this framework to examine what I've been asking of others...and how I want to respond when solicited.
I have shared in some homeschool FB groups and my local co-op group. I really think it’s a great thought starter piece for having conversations with our kids and igniting deeper exploration at a time when it’s feeling very hard for many of us parents to think with precision under the weight of the news.
Thanks for writing these! Is the workbook something a parent needs a guide for, or is it enough to have “Raising Critical Thinkers” and the workbook? Is there syllabus recommendation? And one last question, recommendations on what to pair with this to make it a half credit for high school?
The workbook can stand alone and be used directly by your teens. But there is also a lot of material from raising critical thinkers that you can use independently as well. I would think that you could use this as a part of a social studies credit for the year.
I like the last part about values and beliefs… it helps me when people talk about Family Values. They may mean something that is a belief and not a value.
So wonderfully said. Clear and concise. Thank you for putting this together. Sharing and also printing to put up in the house. We can all use regular reminders to think and grow.

This is exactly what I hoped. We need to shed group think; it’s our biggest danger to thinking well.
Think I’m going to print this out and put it on our kitchen wall
Love all the dialogue suggestions! Many beyond this homeschooling community could benefit from this write up. Thanks for being you!
Please share it if you think it would be helpful. I have limited reach, but you all know the people who would benefit.

Perfect! Thank you! I was considering creating a Logic course, but Social Studies is a great idea.
🔥🔥🔥
I need to re-read this one. Thanks for the prompt.
Thank you

We all make that mistake at times, too. Good to remember our values and to honor them
Powerful and convicting. Thank you.

Nice idea!
